Greenpeace is an international non-profit global campaigning organisation. Our independence and global reach enables us to stand for positive change through action in order to defend nature and promote peace. We investigate and expose global environmental problems, confront those in positions of power and present alternative solutions.
As one of our press officers, you will focus on gaining coverage for our Oceans campaign work. You’ll be great at translating complex political, scientific and environmental information into succinct and clear messages.
As well as your communication, interpersonal skills and diplomacy, this role will also test your ability to organise and improvise. You will need to be equally adept in facing and communicating with openly hostile audiences as with the passionately supportive. You will also have an understanding of the value of investigative work and of the role of mobilising audiences.
You’ll believe in our aims and have at least two years’ experience as a press officer or journalist. Some UK and overseas travel may be involved and, to ensure 24 hour cover, you’ll take part in an on-call duty rota.
