Help save the Arctic

Right now, the Arctic sea ice is at the lowest extent ever recorded, yet Shell is desperate to drill for oil. We must act to protect the Arctic before it's too late.

**UPDATE** Thanks to your incredible generosity, we have reached our target of £100,000. We’ve had an amazing response to the appeal, and we are looking forward to taking our Arctic campaign forward into 2013. You can still donate using the buttons above, and your donation will go towards our work in the Arctic, or one of other vital campaigns.

We are witnessing a catastrophic ice melt in the Arctic - and if we ever needed a wake-up call from Planet Earth, this is it.

We are on the point of losing one of the Earth's most essential life support systems; the Arctic, which helps keeps the planet cool. And, with it, stunning eco-systems and beautiful species like polar bears, Arctic foxes, narwhals, birds and walruses.

And in a truly sickening irony, as climate change warms the icy seas, more areas become accessible to industrial development. Even as climate scientists are documenting the retreating ice, oil companies are desperately trying to get the stamps on the permits that will allow them to drill for their beloved oil further north than ever before.

Thanks in part to your support, Shell has thankfully had to abandon plans to extract oil off the Alaskan coast this year. But they and other oil companies still have plans to return next year - and we need your help to stop them.

The oil companies have billions to spend on their plans - so we need to raise as much money as possible. Otherwise we may lose the frozen planet. Forever.

Please make an urgent donation and help to save the Arctic from Shell's greedy and ruthless search for yet more oil and yet more profit.

Together we can change the course of history - by declaring the unclaimed area around the North Pole as a global sanctuary free from oil exploitation. Free from greed. Free from pollution. Owned by all of humanity and not a mere handful of oil barons. Please help by making a donation now. Thank you.

Donate £15 and help us convince the UN to protect the Arctic forever.
Donate £25 and get our ships to the North Pole to to confront oil companies.
