1 minute to save the world?

Lights, camera, action! Fancy making a film?

Got a story to tell about climate change? About what's happening your area, perhaps - how you're neigbourhood is being impacted and how you're adapting, or what you think needs to be done? Can you tell that story in one minute?

1 Minute to Save the World is an international short film competition, and it's open to anyone who has something to say about climate change.

So send in your points of view, ideas or solutions. Films can be made in any format – video, animation or even on a mobile phone. Amateurs, professionals and under 18s from all over the world are encouraged to send in entries, and your films will be shown on the 1 Minute To Save The World website and also on Guardian Unlimited.  Greenpeace,  UNICEF, World Development Movement , New Economics Foundation and Stop Climate Chaos are all supporting the project.

Your films will be judged by an impressive panel of established film makers, scientists, journalists and campaigners, including:

  • Production company Working Title Pictures
  • Bruce Parry, Tribe presenter and BAFTA Best Documentary award-winner
  • John Vidal, environmental editor at The Guardian
  • Franny Armstrong, director of Age of Stupid
  • Mark Lynas, climate change scientist and author

Check out 1 Minute To Save The World for the full jury listing, and remember, they are all waiting to see what you do with your 1 minute.

There will be a £1000 first prize for the winning film, with more runner up prizes to be announced shortly.

The winning films will be screened at the Copenhagen Climate Conference, as world leaders gather in December to decide on our lives and our future. They'll also be distributed around the globe and screened as part of a global campaign to raise awareness of climate change.

Good luck!

In my 6 years here I've worked on almost every campaign and been fascinated by them all to varying degrees. Just now I'm working on Peace and Oceans - which means getting rid of our Trident nuclear weapons system and creating large marine reserves so that marine life can get some protection from overfishing.
