You made a Wave across the country

The Wave

More than 50,000 people turned out on Saturday in London and Glasgow to tell our leaders we want tough action on climate change. Well done and a huge thanks to everyone who came out, painted themselves (and each other) blue and joined in the wave.

My spirit lifted Saturday morning when I saw the news that Obama has committed to attending the final days of the Copenhagen conference and it just got better from there. There was singing, some awsome dancing, fantastic costumes and Gordon Brown invited 24 Wave supporters to 10 Downing St after the Wave to hear their demands. It all finished with Climate Camp setting up tents in Trafalgar Square and they're still there this morning.

You can relive the day with updates from many participants on twitter and photos on flicker.

You can also read the updates from our volunteers who made the journey  to London...

From the Bristol group blog:

"It was an inspiring day am very tired after all that walking, shouting, whistling, chanting, and winding up my alarm clock to say much just look at the pictures."

The Berkshire group showed up with a gorilla and tiger:

"Our animal representatives were among the most popular attractions, although when the parent of a distraught child asked Pete to remove his Gorilla mask, the child seemed less than re-assured!"

And the Canterbury group put together a video of their perspective from the day.
