Greenpeace activists removing GM crop
At
5.15am, at Lyng, Norfolk, Greenpeace volunteers participated in a
peaceful direct action, decontaminating a six acre field of GM maize due
to flower within the week.
With the help of a farm mower, the
crop was cut off at the roots, and the maize placed in bags in order to
contain the contamination. Twenty-eight people have been arrested and
charged with theft and criminal damage.
