Thank you for offering to be part of the action. The campaign to #SaveTheArctic will not be easily won, and we need your help to tell Shell managers what’s happening from day one. We want you to tell them what’s going on and why we’re campaigning to keep Shell out of the Arctic. Some Shell stations are owned by the company, some by large regional chains, and some by smaller franchises. We'd like to give all of those managers a chance to raise their concerns with Shell. So we’d like to invite you to:
1. Find your local Shell station:
Check to see whether your local station has already been visited. If it has, consider visiting a different station - although there's no harm in a station receiving more than one letter. (If there is more than one Shell station in your area, or if you're travelling around the UK, then you're welcome to visit more than one.)
View Shell stations in the UK in a full screen map
If your local Shell station is not marked on the map, if it is listed as an 'unconfirmed' Shell station, or if it has closed down then please email us with more details, after your visit.
2. Download and print this letter
If you are comfortable adding your name and address to the letter, then please adapt the letter to ask for a reply from the manager.
3. Visit your chosen station(s)
When you get there, politely ask to speak to the manager. If he/she is available, explain that you’re a Greenpeace supporter, ask for their name, and then hand over your letter. If they're not available, ask for their name and ask the staff on duty to give them the letter.
You may find it useful to read these Frequently Asked Questions before your visit.
If possible please take a picture of your chosen station. If you are able to take a friend with you, please ask the manager / staff if you can take a picture of you handing over the letter. Be polite and nice about your request.
Politely thank the manager or staff for their time, and then leave the premises.
IMPORTANT - tell us what happened:
We really need to know how you've helped, so we can tell others and coordinate what's happening locally - so please complete the feedback form.
We'll then get in touch, and update our map with your station(s) information. In the mean time, please visit the Getactive website to see what else is happening locally, email your friends, share the campaign on Facebook and Twitter, write about your experiences in your own blog (if you have one), and spread the word.
Thank you.
