One of the ways that Bath Greenpeace has managed to raise so much money for Greenpeace over the years is by helping at local festivals. For the last ten years we have been invited to act as stewards, collecting entry donations, at a biannual local community festival, Widcombe Rising.
Widcombe Rising arose out of a need to convince local council and businesses that a near-by one-way bypass could be made two-way, allowing the traffic rat-run that is Widcombe High Street to be pedestrianised for ambling residents and a stronger community. That sounds like something we are happy to support. Plus they give us a share of the festival profits . Thank you Widcombe Rising!
This year our little band of Greenpeace Bath-ers were supported by the lovely folks from Bristol East. Thanks guys!
Check back soon to find out how much we raised.
