London Marathon for Greenpeace - done!!

Posted by ed.vanreenen - 30 April 2013 at 10:30pm - Comments

London was bathed in sunshine for the marathon on April 21st, perfect conditions for runners and spectators! I had a fantastic day on the course, and loved wearing the Greenpeace shirt.

Mission complete in 3hr 26min 51secs
The whole race was an awesome experience. Many very special moments along the course through a great city. The thousands and thousands of supporters along the way kept us going ever closer to the finish at the Mall with Buckingham Palace as a back drop.

Brilliant bands on route, the steel drums in Canary Wharf lifted my spirits at just the right time. And a sensory bombardment all the way passing many of London's icons. To all of those who watched, messaged, called and have supported. A massive thanks, you're brilliant!

Fundraising
Thanks to everyone who's donated generously and helped with the fundraising efforts. The total is over £2,000 and when including the gift aid amount this brings it up to £2,300. Thank you, both I and Greenpeace are very grateful!
