Current campaign

Trident Renewal

Trident is the UKs nuclear wepons system and there are currently plans to renew it. It will cost £97 Billion for this new nuclear wepons system. In the run up to the election there is a lot of talk about how to tackle the national debt and what public services to cut. Greenpeace wants to show that there is public support for cutting expenditure on Trident.

AIRPLOT

Greenpeace has bought a piece of land in the middle of the proposed third runway site at Heathrow.

Brief review of 2009

Coal Kills

   E.ON HQ Coventry

Last year seemed like an extremely busy / active year for our group, with the year ending with an influx of new members. One of the first questions we always get asked by people who are new to the group is what sort of things do we get up to. In fact I’m sure that by now we can all reel off a long list of the stuff we’ve done over the years so making a list of last years highlights shouldn’t be too hard.

Tea and biscuits with my MP

While most of our group was at the Wave on Saturday 5th I spent the afternoon at a climate change discussion with my MP Sylvia Heal and other local people. I had been invited to a tea discussion at a local scout hut by my MP to discuss the issue of climate change.

Halloween Skill share at Goblin Combe

Goblin Combe Woods

We’ve just spent the weekend on a skill share at Goblin Combe Environment Centre. I can’t think of a more appropriate place to spend Halloween than somewhere called Goblin Combe. It’s located in North Somerset and is part of the Forest of Avon.
