After the recent success in our Tuna campagin, John West were the last major Tuna supplier to agree to switch to more sustainable fishing metheds, we started the next phase of our Oceans campagin at the weekend in Kings Heath. The campagin is aimed at reforming the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP) which is taking place in Europe at the moment. We want the policy to support more sustainable fishing methods, prevent overfishing, stopping discards caused by fishing quotas and stopping harmful subsides.

When I was first told about the campaign, to get members of the public to draw a picture conveying these complex issues and then sent to David Cameron I thought it was a bit absract. But when we actually got out to Kings Heath I was suprised at how well it seemed to work and how creative people where with their pictures.

This campaign has been supported in a big way by Hugh Fearnley-Whittngstall with his influential BAFTA-winning program Hugh's Fish Fight which was shown six months ago. A new episode is now available on 4OD which brings the campign uptdate.
