Posted by gemmarta - 21 November 2009 at 5:58pm - Comments

Today, 21st November, Bournemouth and Poole Greenpeace joined forces with members of the Tatnam Organic Patch in Poole to plant a Cox's Apple Tree to symbolize the twinning of Poole and Sipson.

Annette Brooke MP for Mid Dorset and North Poole came along to help plant the tree and talked to supporters

Members of Poole Agenda 21, Transition Poole, Greenpeace and Tatnam Organic Patch attended the event and sheltered from the rain to enjoy some apple themed refreshements.

Annette Brooke MP commented:  ‘As a strong opposer of further development at Heathrow, I was a very early Airplot co-owner, so I was really delighted to make this symbolic gesture in Poole. I am also pleased that beyond the symbolism, the apple tree will make a real contribution to the Tatnam Organic Patch.’
