Surprising sight at local Shell garage

We've all been busy telling Shell to ditch their plans to drill for oil in the Arctic for a little while now. I was very pleasantly surprised whilst passing my local Shell garage in Brighton on Saturday morning, as it seems that someone had been busy 'rebranding' the forecourt area by putting up posters, covering up Shell logos and placing 'out of order' cards over the pumps!

Presumabley the person/persons involved felt so strongly about Shell's plans to exploit our warming climate in search of the stuff that got us into this mess in the first place, that they were compelled to take some fairly drastic action to convince Shell to change their ways! I was so inspired I decided to take a couple of pictures for posterity.

I applaud the actions of these anonymous folk, we must all stand up for the Arctic. You too can take a stand by signing up to www.savethearctic.org.

Or if you've got good eyesight and would like to 'spot' similar signs at a Shell petrol station near you, then please get in touch with your local Greenpeace coordinator via the Greenpeace Getactive webpages.

If there isn't a Greenpeace group / network near you, but you'd still like to do more to help #SaveTheArctic then please complete our online survey, and we'll email you some more things you can do locally as an individual.

We need your help, so please get involved.
