Street campaigning is very much dependent on the weather and Saturday morning 21st January on Whiteladies Road offered a mixture of cold gusts of wind, drizzly showers and the occasional sunny spell. Hey, but this doesn’t deter the hardy and committed souls of Bristol East Greenpeace.
Another outing for Brian the Stormtrooper, who soon becomes the centre of attention and gives us an opportunity to gain support for the current VW : Darkside campaign. Futher details here.
We pitched our stall in the vicinity of Redland Farmer’s Market which meant there were various foodie temptations on offer. The stall featured our newly improved campaign table – now with a sexy fifth leg! (a campaign tip gleaned from last week’s South West skill share – well done Carol)
Big thanks to Sue for being our Stormtrooper of the day, Natasha, Loz and great to welcome back Fi after her French retreat. A worthwhile couple of hours which gained 125 signatures.
Every card signed edges us towards the national target of 10,000 signatures that will eventually be delivered to VW HQ. Along with the 495,500 online sign ups to become Jedi how can VW ignore the snowballing public support for the campaign?
