Balancing Act
Just about to send to HQ our latest batch of 350 David Cameron fish petitions that we have been getting signed over the late summer.
This campaign was a gentle one. Children were eager to draw ocean-themed pictures – this gave us time to explain the issues to parents who would then often sign up.
Bristol is a big city and we are but a small stall but we tried to cover some ground with this campaign.
We went north on the Gloucester Road, east to Easton, south to Best of Bedminster and west, well BrisFest is the new Ashton Court!
And on Sunday we popped down to the Harbourside and moved the stall around the docks to follow the sun and the crowds. We ended up next to the high-wire fiddle player in Millennium Square. Please draw your own analogies around the delicate balance of our oceans and the lucrative Spanish fishing subsidies.
This link takes you to the Greenpeace expose of Organised Crime at Sea:

Anyway, the nights are drawing in and Greenpeace HQ want to land all the Ocean Action letters simultaneously on the Number 10 doormat with a large thud.
So the stall may be ready to hibernate. Unless of course group members want to wake it up for autumn, Halloween or Xmas fairs! To be continued….. :-)
