Packaging may contain destroyed rainforest.

Across the country Barbies have been lurking in trees, lamp-posts, nooks and other strange crannies to highlight Mattel’s destruction of rainforest for toy packaging.  Barbie is produced using pulp from the rainforests of Indonesia, home to endangered species such as the Sumatran tiger.

This week stickers have appeared in Bristol toy stores on Barbie dolls to say “Warning: Packaging may contain destroyed rainforest”.    This may raise awareness of the issues amongst customers and encourage them to re-think their purchases.
