Sunday and we're at Eastville Park for the Islamic Cultural Fayre - this is a first for us so we weren't really sure what to expect. The Fayre starts at noon but the overcast weather may have put people off so things are slow to begin with. But as the afternoon passes the sun comes out and it starts getting a lot more crowded. The costumes are out and we're handing out stickers to enthusistic children and parents are taking pictures with the Polar Bear. The ribbon is starting to fill up with names and messages - perhaps the opportunity to have your name carried through London on a giant Polar Bear is too good to resist!
If you can't visualise a Polar Bear the size of a London bus then have a look here at this article in Creative Review: http://www.creativereview.co.uk/cr-blog/2013/august/greenpeace-polar-bear
If inspired, you can join the Arctic Uproar here: http://action.greenpeace.org.uk/page/s/aurora
Thanks to Carol, Natasha, Ian, Iain, Loz, Sue, Madeine and Richard B for giving up their Sunday afternoon to run the stall.
