East Bristol Greenpeace group member Lauren Tobia, a veteran of many direct actions is taking on another challenge – she’s running to raise money for Greenpeace. Lauren (pictured) will be running the London 5K Santa Run on Sunday 9th December. Lauren, by her own admission, was not previously known for her athletic prowess but she has really got the running bug and having donned the lycra is now getting in serious training, pounding the streets near her home in Southville.
Never one to take the easy option, Lauren is making it considerably harder for herself by promising to run the actual race dressed as Santa!
As I said at the beginning Lauren is running for Greenpeace and has the full support and backing of both the local group here in East Bristol and of our friends at Greenpeace UK at Cannonbury Villas, London. They have even set up a website for Lauren to make it as easy as possible for all you lovely greenies to make a donation to support Lauren and help Greenpeace to save the Arctic.
