Stephen Williams MP draws a fish

The Amnesty International Bristol Summer Garden Party  took place last weekend in Goldney Hall.  The weather was a bit mixed but the overgrown yew avenue leading to what was once the harbour vista provided good shelter from both the fierce sun and the rain showers.

Passers by were lured to the stall to write Ocean Action letters to David Cameron about Common Fisheries Policy reform.  People took the opportunity to augment these standard letters with sketches and messages.  Once people had a few examples to look at, they got into the swing of it and we collected 67 personalised letters.

The local MP Stephen Williams swung by and, although he did not wish to sign the standard letter to the PM, he did draw a fish for Sue.  Suffice it to say he’s not giving up the day job!

The Bristol East group will be out campaigning again for Ocean Action during August with a view to delivering the letters to Number 10 during September –  press  the “Contact” button for Richard Lancaster to find out when and where!
