"Wanna buy a pig?" "How about a lovely terracotta teapot, mate?" "Ere, that's a genuine Banksy. Honest .. would i lie to you Missus?" "Take it off me 'ands for two quid."
A right motely crew of dodgy wheelers and dealers were to be found flogging their wares to raise money for Greenpeace at the Clifton Car Boot Sale this weekend - aided and abetted by some geezer in a polar bear outfit! One way to try and sell stuff is to model it and show off its benefits, so at one point we had a couple of our gang resorted to wearing lampshades on their heads Not sure the punters were convinced!
A field full of sellers and buyers, good weather and an enthusiastic selling team from the Bristol East group all contributed towards our best Car Boot Sale result! We raised a fantastic £178. In addition we encouraged a good number of people to add their names to the ribbon that will very soon be stitched onto 'Aurora' - the double decker bus-sized polar bear puppet - that will be the centrepiece of the Polar Parade in London on Sunday 15th September. Big thanks to:Clifton Car Boot organisers for giving us a free pitch and to those who donated new 'stock' to sell, Well done to the gang including, Carol, Lauren, Fi, Madeleine, Paul and Richard B.
