Paula polar bear spotted in Goldney Grotto

That’s what I like about Greenpeace folk – they just get on with it, whether it’s wading through thigh deep mud at Glastonbury with heavy lumps of metal to construct a skateboard ramp or picketing food processor HQs in 30 degree heat in furry orange orangutan costumes!

So a little (torrential) rain at the Amnesty International Goldney Garden Party did not deter our stoic Arctic campaigners.

Admittedly we had tempted fate by describing Goldney in the Greenpeace forthcoming events summary as the garden party “where the sun always shines”.  It didn’t.

Lauren and Richard did a grand job of entertaining the kids with Paula polar bear. Paula polar bear offered free (damp) hugs, took a definite liking to the potential habitat offered by Goldney grotto and attracted attention from a lovely Bristol Evening Post photographer.

We are glad we went along to support Amnesty, help with stewarding and chat with visitors about our fears and hopes for the Arctic.
