At Nailsea Scout Troop 2nd May Fayre

A sunny Bank Holiday weekend (don't seem to have used that phrase in a long time!) and the people of Nailsea are out supporting the town's Scout Troop's 2nd May Fayre at the Millenium Park. It's definitely sun screen and ice cream all the way - so who is going to want to show a little ♥ for the Arctic in this weather?

Well, not surprisingly, a lot of people seemed to relate to our campaign, helped by the fact that we had stickers to hand out and our 6ft 5' polar bear was offering free hugs.  We managed to obtain a cool 103 new Arctic Defenders and added another 28 photos of some 60 people wanting to show their support for the Arctic.  It just goes to show that although none of us have been to the Arctic, it does have a special place in a lot of people's hearts.  It is good to know that many people feel, as we do, that it is a special place and needs protection from the commercial interests of oil firms and industrial fishing companies.

Big thanks to Richard and Rose for setting up the stall and to Ian for enduring the heat in his bear costume. Thanks also to Summer who helped out during the afternoon too.
