On 11th February 2011 members of Bristol Greenpeace met with local Lib Dem MP, Stephen Williams, and handed over 213 'Go Beyond Oil' postcards signed by members of his constituency.  The meeting was part of Greenpeace's national lobbying strategy to highlight concerns regarding the current Energy and Climate Change Bill that is currently being debated in the House of Lords.  Issues surrounding the proposed Green Deal, threat of offshore deepwater drilling in UK waters and our worries over nuclear power were aired.  The meeting was deemed to be very worthwhile as we pushed the agenda to Go Beyond Oil.  Mr Williams was genuinely sympathetic towards some, but not all, of the issues we raised.  However, it is proposed to return again when the Energy Bill goes through the House of Commons later this year.
