Action on the BP Campaign

Posted by Roisin - 1 August 2010 at 2:06pm - Comments

The Greenpeace campaign against BP is targetted at the company NOT because of the massive Oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, but the company's insistence that it remains only in the 'Oil and Gas' sector - reiterated at their AGM this year, to deal in 'hydrocarbons'. Greenpeace point is that with a a company so large and in so many diverse regions, wouldn't it be better if BP diversified into renewables.....Or maybe this is too much lateral thinking for BP itself. Certainly former Chief Executive Tony Heyward who has been 're-posted' to Siberia,  was brought in to stop the forward-thinking work of previous COE Sir John Browne, who started a renewables and research division - roughly at the same time as the relaunched BP - Beyond Petroleum - statement was made.

So. closing down London Garages and staking out one, fenced and re-labelled, with our Greenpeace Exec John Sauven making a statement from Greenpeace, watch the video and take a view...
