Nestle - Plans for improvement of supply - source

Posted by Roisin - 17 May 2010 at 11:51pm - Comments

Nestlé has agreed to our campaign demands! Thank you for all your hard work on the streets. We couldn't have done it without you. Nestlé has developed a plan which will identify and remove any companies in their supply chain with links to deforestation, including the infamous Sinar Mas group. This plan still needs to be followed up with action, and the Forest Trust - an independent organisation we've worked with before - will be closely monitoring Nestlé's progress.
What next for the palm oil campaign? HSBC. HSBC is investing in Sinar Mas and is therefore funding deforestation. See the Greenpeace website and email Michael Geoghegan, HSBC's CEO, now

Many thanks and many congratulations. It’s a great result!
