On the Streets

Posted by Roisin - 9 August 2010 at 4:35pm - Comments

Hi there, We had a good day in Bromley High Street on Saturday. Campaigning against the spending on the new Nuclear Missile Trident - and then joined members of Bromley Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament and Bromley Friends of the Earth in their annual Hiroshima Day protest outside the Churchill Theatre. As a group we made a small, silent but powerful procession in the High Street (all four of us) just so the Saturday shoppers had something else to look at, said poems, and scattered Chrysanthemums on the Ravensbourne River in memory of the many who died in the last Nuclear bomb. We need to work har so that there will not be another one - and Trident is shaping up to be just that.

Next meeting next Tuesday, August 17th - with perhaps a visit to the local Amnesty Branch Barbequw - see you at 7.30 in O'Neill's
