Waitrose

Hi there,

Yet again, things have changed for this day and this time it is our target stores! Well, it is still Waitrose and since we’ve had an offer of help from Greenwich, who are joining us locally on the day it makes sense to work together.

So, we shall make our first protest heard outside the supermarkets at Bromley South and then in Beckenham, where Greenwich will be joining us. Good idea to get a travel card for the day if you are coming into London with us.

Now we will start in Bromley South, meet at 11 am to start at 11.30. The extra half our is where we can all get up-to-date on the latest twist in the campaign

As before, we would like to have a presence at the back, visible to passing traffic on Mason’s Hill and a presence at the front, where we can engage with customers going into the car park and passers-by outside Bromley South Station.. …..if you can manage that PLEASE REPLY WITH BROMLEY SOUTH IN THE SUBJECT LINE. (roisinrobertson@yahoo.co.uk)

By about 12.30 we will be moving off to Beckenham, where Greenwich will meet up with us at 1.00 pm to do the same outside the Beckenham Waitrose…….. if you can manage that PLEASE REPLY WITH BECKENHAM IN THE SUBJECT LINE. (roisinrobertson@yahoo.co.uk)

We will then go into London, to be at Russell Square tube by 2.30 where we meet up with all the other local groups who have been doing their own targets in their areas and we shall do a session all together outside the Waitrose there, then have a picture taken and that’s it…..off for a debrief in a local hostelry and have a Seasons Greetings social time with other Greenpeace people.

We DO still have a Polar Bear outfit…..we may be able to use an iPad for signing up people to the SavetheArctic campaign..and I now have leaflets & flyers all about the campaign.

Is there anyone coming who has a smart phone of any sort, or an ipad available, as you know, each group needs to have a Media person -  for tweets, pics etc, please let me know if you can help.

We do have a budget for travel and pizzas in the evening, so you know that funds are there, as well as teas and coffees during the day.

I have put in the video taken when we did a bit of campaigning in Islington recently - it will give you an idea of what our street events look like and what role you can help in ....

Looking forward to seeing you then…..

xxR
