10 Things I've Learned From Richard Martin...

10 Things I've Learned From Richard Martin...

1) To say 'no'.
2) "Let's take that discussion to the pub later".
3) The colour black really does go with anything.
4) Mead - nectar of the gods.
5) Pressure washing pavements is not the preserve of community service.
6) Many wise words over a pint, immediately forgotten on sobering up.
7) Blog.
8) If in doubt, do it.
9) Beard stroking works.
10) Blog some more.

And this list could go on and on and on. Just what are we going to do without Richard Martin? After 10 years with Greenpeace UK, as an activist with Camden Greenpeace and others, as our network developer in the office, as our digital guru, as our chieftain and good friend, he's heading off to work his magic in the East. Our loss is Greenpeace Asia's gain. As the front line of saving our planet is moving eastwards, so is Richard.

I've asked various fellow Camden Greenpeace activists for their thoughts on what I should write in here, and I think Rex sums it up best. "Richard Martin! Brilliant bloke. Off to Asia!? Good on him but sorry to see him go. All the very best, Richard. Hope it all goes well." And wish him well we do.

If we're going to stop climate change and the various other threats to the green and peaceful future we all want, then we need strong solid networks of committed activists all over Asia. And I can't think of a better man for that job.

Chieftain, thank you for being an inspiration. We wish you all the best.
