Following my decision to join a Greenpeace group in my local area, I was, in all honesty... frightened. The daunting images I had in my head of beardy, Bob Dylan-loving hippies did taunt me when, in a smart Harrington jacket and carefully gelled hair, i walked into a walked into a Camden pub. However, my fear of not meeting the "criteria" of greenpeace members was soon removed when I stepped into a room where I could see a variety of dress codes, smartphones...and avid Pulp Fiction fans! (an odd choice for "hippies.") After discussing important issues and planning vital events i soon realised that, to be a Greenpeace member, you don't have to wear tie dye t-shirts or have dreadlocks, what unites the people is their shared passion for simply making the world a better place.
