Trident campaigning under the Camden Lock bridge

Trident campaigning at the food market on Camden High street 27 March
Green on the screen movie night
Captured Kris Philp on film at the Kilburn ACQ Saturday the 10th
A very active month with our presence on the street basically every weekend. We tied up Trident and started our focus on the Ask the Climate Question campaigning in preparation for the hustings and the election. At the meeting we also had a visit from Richard from the head office, who told us that the Nestle campaign had been and amazing success, with us taking the social network and media battle to an entirely new level, ending with Nestle hiring for new people for their PR department. The Air plot also did the trick with the court declaring that Heathrow's expansion violates the 2008 climate change law, forcing them to not only withdraw, but remedy many of their previous violations.
Ask the climate question hustings
200 people from all over Hampstead and Kilburn, a marginal seat in North
London, came out to Ask the Climate Question on Wednesday evening. All
six prospective parliamentary candidates for the constituency gathered
in St Stephen's Church on Rosslyn Hill for the election hustings
organised by volunteers from Camden Greenpeace and other local green
groups including Transition Belsize, Friends of the Earth and Camden
Cyclists.
London skill share in June
A Saturday in June (please visit the doodle: http://www.doodle.com/2wrbeswrstpu2get to determine which), there will be a skill share at the main office in Islington. Amongst the activities are knot tying, banner making, games etc. If you have a skill that you think could be valuable to others from the network please share it with them by signing up as a facilitator and give a quick introduction.
Political lobbying network
One of the best methods of getting our point of views to the top of the system is to actually use their own channels. We want to be in close personal contact with the local mp's and councillors, to make sure they are constantly aware of our viewpoints on the current subjects, allowing them to come to us as well for advice and a fresh perspective. To build up this contact we need people who will 3 or 4 times a year drop by their office and have a chat with the politicians personally, as well as send them an email response when they send out press releases or attend public events etc. If interested in getting the training and joining the network please get in touch.

Upcoming campaigning dates
Saturday 17th of April: Join us on Saturday for a couple of hours in the sunshine campaigning on
Ask the Climate Question. We're focusing on this marginal seat during
the General Election campaign to make sure that climate change is at the
top of all the parties' agendas. We have lots of nice stickers and door-knob hangers to give out, and we will be taking pictures of people asking their climate questions.
Please let Neil or Laura know ASAP if you can make it.
Saturday 24th of April: Location still to be confirmed, please let Neil know if you can make it.
Monday Morning 26th: Christian will be going to the National ACQ hustings, asking questions taking notes etc. To get more info, please contact Laura.
6th of June: we will have a stall at the Camden green fair in regents park. Most likely we will be in the middle of the palm oil campaign at that time and we will give the orang-utan costumes another chance to shine.
