Last weekend I attended the Friends of the Earth conference in London. I saw a lot of Greenpeace friends there.

One of the scariest things I heard was from a scientist from the Tyndall Institute. He told me that the level of action (ie very little) being taken by companies and governments to limit the effects of climate change is so poor that a temperature rise of 4degree C is almost inevitable, possible even before 2050. Has anyone else heard that? If it is the case then we have to increase our efforts to stop what's happening and to stop cretins like Shell from continuing to trash the planet.

Then there's the loss of biodiversity, ocean acidification, water stress...... what a world we are leaving for our children.

Vivienne Westwood was a guest speaker. My favourite quote from her: "There are two types of people: there are eco-warriors and there are idiots."

We are going to show Shell what we think of them on Saturday 22nd September. Come along - be at Canterbury West at 8.45am.
