Oakdale Windfarm to go ahead

Planning permission has been granted for the two turbines at Oakdale Business Park near Blackwood, Caerphilly. The turbines will provide enough electricity to power the equivalent of approximately 2,400 homes - although it is hoped they will provide reduced price electricity directly to local businesses.

It is hoped to begin construction on the turbines in late 2012/early 2013. The developers will also be consulting with the local community to determine how the community benefit fund will be administered (this will contribute £12,500 per year, index linked, to the local community). If you would like to be involved in this process, please get in touch.
