For people who never normally show any concern
for anything other than the view from their window,
there seems to have been a lot of interest in the
sea off the coast of Kent last week.
The new Windfarm there may or may not generate
the energy that it's makers claim and it may need
subsidy (why not call it investment like we do with nuclear?)
but other than that it simply and safely generates electricity.
No sinking ships , crashing helicoptors, end of local tourism
LFN/damage to marine species etc etc
Of course no alternatives are provided by these people
to meet our energy needs
and as ever their views are imbued with negative attitudes that
always feature defeatism and a bleak outlook for us all.
Most of all behind the bluster is the admission of failure, despite
all their efforts they could not stop another windfarm being built.
They have been proved wrong: Renewable energy continues to
progress and grow to meet our needs. Clearly the dustbin of
history has 'Windy Nimby' stamped on it!
