Trident campaign in the rain

Posted by elisavetta164 - 3 April 2010 at 1:48pm - Comments

On a Saturday in late March in the rain (naturally, we managed to pick the only Saturday in ages when it decided to rain..) we set up the Trident campaign stall for a couple of hours in the market square in Durham.

Unfortunately, we had to give up a little earlier than we had originally planned because all our leaflets and campaign materials were getting soggy (see picture!) but nevertheless, we had a good time talking to lots of interested people about scrapping Trident. What was best was finding that most people agreed with our point of view, and were shocked at the estimated costs of Trident being as high as 97 billion!

If you haven't already, do take a look at the Cut Trident page on the Greenpeace website, where you can upload a video on to the videowall if you're so inclined, explaining why you think going ahead with Trident is a very bad idea.
