It's been a BRILLIANT year for Greenpeace International, UK and Croydon.
2012 saw us campaigning against sHell planning to drill the Arctic, against KFC using APP packaging from Indonesian rainforest. We campaigned for stronger Common Fishery Policy laws and against Apple's coal powered cloud. 2 million people signed up to save the Arctic and a polar bear was arrested for mischeivous deeds at a sHell forecourt. We challenged VW on vehicle emissions and climate change at the Paris Motor Show We challenged the lib dem MPs to stand up for renewable energy and inspired young activists to design the Flag for the Future to mark a global sanctuary at the North Pole.
And we saw success after success as Apple agreed to clean up its act, sHell had to postpone its plans to drill the Arctic and have now had to cancel them for 2013. Lib Dems pledged to back carbon cuts and support renewable energy. KFC announced it would bouycott paper suppliers involved in deforestation and 2013 has already seen Asian Pulp & Paper pull out of Indonesian deforestation
