Muriel and her sister, Esther, Jim, Clive, (Simon and Helen borrowed from Sutton in Transition) and me showed films to passers-by on the High St. yesterday. The films concerned Volkswagen's reluctance to stop lobbying the government about climate issues and their inability to include their pollution-busting engine: Blue Motion in more than 6% of their models. Result 93 cards signed and personal details captured. A Volkswagen Stormtrooper was routinely seen in the vicinity.

On Sunday, Richard, Clive, Gus,Jay, Neil (from Reigate Greenpeace group) and Anne did the same with a slightly increased take-up for the filmshow at the end of the morning. We got approx. another 25 cards signed but we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Come on Volkswagen, it's time to do your bit and stop lobbying for increased emissions. Oh! and by the way, how about deciding to fit Blue Motion engines in more cars? Make us proud!
