Flying kites in climate message

Posted by r.polding - 28 October 2009 at 6:05pm - Comments

The kite gathering in Goodrington's Youngs Park will be among more than 3,000 events in more than 160 nations forming the largest ever global day of climate action.

There will also be a banner-making event at Paignton Zoo to highlight the same global campaign.

The events are being co-ordinated by the international organisation 350.org to urge world leaders to take fast and effective action on global warming.

The name of the organisation has been chosen because 350 parts per million of carbon dioxide is the safe upper limit for the atmosphere, according to the latest scientific data.
