Parliament, and Successes

Posted by r.polding - 14 October 2009 at 9:48am - Comments

What an amazing week! With the occupation of parliament Greenpeace has shown the country that there is a need for new a radical reform in parliament. As if this wasn't enough, news has filtered through that BAA will not go ahead with plans for a third runway at Heathrow, and earlier in the week there was also an announcement that the Kingsnorth power station would not be built.

Over the last year Greenpeace has campaigned with the Airplot theme to stop BAA from expanding Heathrow and many Greenpeace activists (including myself) have been involved in non-violent direct action again e.On to try and stop them from building a new coal-fired power station at Kingsnorth.

Next year will be more exciting than this, and things will be stepped up another gear as we fight to change the politics of this country and fight for a greener, sustainable and bright future.
