A Day in the Life of a Reluctant Orang-utan

Posted by irene - 20 March 2010 at 7:33pm - Comments

The timing let me guess it was going to be the beginning of the palm-oil campaign. Getting off the train at 'East Croydon- home of Nestle UK' was also a bit of a clue.
"Excellent target but please let me not be an orang-utan," was going through my head.

Well let me tell you, even I lost my inhibitions after 5 minutes. I was picking off parasites or squatting at the feet of policemen, gazing up soulfully, with the best of them. (We had some training in 'less is more' - bouncing around is not very effective)

Watching people's reactions when they first spot you, as they get off the bus in their going-to-work-daze, is great. Drivers waving and honking horns, children intrigued but slightly disconcerted.

There is also an endless supply of bananas. It is seriously hot in those outfits and I hope no repeat performance is planned for the summer months!
