Over the last few months Edinburgh Greenpeace have been out and about collecting signed ‘Go Beyond Oil’ cards from members of the public to be sent to their Member of Parliament, and over that time we’ve managed to get more than 300 cards filled out for over 50 MPs, demonstrating the wide base of support that there is out there for a stronger Energy Bill than the one currently going through the House of Commons at the moment.
Members from our group have met to hand over cards in person to Sheila Gilmore (Labour, Edinburgh East) and Mark Lazarowicz (Labour, Edinburgh North and Leith), and the rest are now off in the post to encourage MPs to push for a stronger Bill which will ensure a safer, greener future for everyone.
