'Cut Trident, Not Jobs' march under the sun!

Posted by Amanda-frog - 21 March 2010 at 10:10pm - Comments

On Saturday 13th of March, 5 volunteers from the Edinburgh group and one from Glasgow rallied alongside around 1000 other protestors to show that Scotland does NOT want Trident!

We had our little "mock polling cards" to have people vote on whether or not spending £97bn (no less...) on Trident is a good idea, a

We decided to talk mainly to people on the edges of the March who might not have known what the protest/chanting/people dressed weirdly was all about.... and indeed we had very good interactions with members of the public - including two youngs chaps who "worked for the defense industry!" and who, after a long insightful chat, decided to vote No.

It was a superb sunny day and we all had fun. It was good to be able to "piggyback" onto such an event because 1000 people on the streets do attract quite a lot of attention...

Well done everyone, and see you around Edinburgh for the next round of polling!
