What could be a better than signing the Arctic scroll to protect this fragile area from exploitation? How about doing that and getting a sticker and a bit of cake!
We were outside the main library of Edinburgh University with our leaflets and smiles, talking to students about an oil rush in the Arctic that has already begun. Shell recently started drilling in this region, made possible by ever decreasing summer ice, could they clean up a spill? We were asking people to sign the Arctic scroll, to declare it a global sanctuary and stop Shell and others from destroying it.
