A little fun with orangutans --wait -- no, they were kids!

Posted by Amanda-frog - 18 April 2010 at 1:19am - Comments

On the 10th of April a few volunteers went to The Venchie (Craigmillar, Edinburgh) to have a wee event with the kids at the centre. Although turn out was pretty low because of gorgeous weather outside (same number of kids and volunteers!!), we took plenty of pics of kids as orangutans, and had lots of fun.

Surprisingly enough, the orang-utan face paints were not very popular, and the little girls wanted to be... butterflies! Any butterflies to save in the rainforest of Indonesia that Nestlé are destroying? Ian, we need your help! :)

We hope to keep an ongoing collaboration with the Venchie as we feel it's really important to raise awareness in kids about environmental issues - and let them know their beloved Kit Kat bars might not be the best choice if we care about saving the rainforest...
