In october not only change is in the colour of leaves, shorter and colder days begin to wake us from warm holidays' period. At the same time a global movement acting locally for human and environment's rights gives all of us a chance of earning freedom from Monsanto's criminous activities. This is the chance, especially for the less wealthy of us, who cannot afford costly lawyers to claim ones' rights to not to be used as lab rats by Monsanto's reckless contributors... not only the official ones in Headquarters, "research" institutes worldwide and food industry, but also other unofficial mercenaries that Monsanto (one of the most rich & powerful corporations in the world) corrupts, including a number of politicians and food and agriculture "authorities"!
That occasion is the "March Against Monsanto", which will take place on the 12th October at 2 pm from Bristo square to the Parliament in Edinburgh. That's right... the World Food Day! Food that small farmers have to produce harrassment-free, transparently and using nature's free ecosystem services, rather than under Monsanto's extortion.
Monsanto science abortions include Agent Orange and Roundup (herbicides); DDT (insecticide); PCBs, HCBs, dioxin (pesticides); Aspartane (sweetner); Posilac (animal feed protein: mad cow syndrom); etc. All scientifically proven to be toxic to human health and the environment, most of which were banned only after being legalised and commercialised for decades!! Neonichotenoid chemicals are used in their products, which were proven to be major contributor to the CCD (Colony Collapse Disorder) in the bees population. Despite their gambling on other people's heads when it comes to exclusively business-driven-science, they are still in business! Not a "new book" for anyone who knows how corporations exercise their power. Recent shocking news was the signing by Obama of the so called "Monsanto Protection Act" in March 2013. This was an entirely anti-democratic procedure, as there was no consultation of the US citizens prior to legally setting the greedy beasts freer than they already were.
This single march may be insufficient to stop the beasts, but at least it will show the world population is organizing against their abuses and will not stop until succeeding! It's your choise whether to join those few hours on the 12th October for a humanity & nature's cause!
