We took the polar bear out once again on a sunny Saturday in Edinburgh on 4 May 2013 to ask people to sign up for the I ❤ Arctic campaign.
There was a great turnout of enthusiastic, friendly and helpful volunteers, some old hands and some at their first ever Greenpeace event. A huge thanks to everyone who came along to help make the day such a success!
A great deal of fun was had on the day, both at the stall at St Andrew's Square and on a quick walkabout with the bear to try and find the end of the May Day march to meet friends and to see if any marchers wanted to sign up as well while we were there.
As well as adults interested in our campaign, there was a near constant stream of children who wanted to come up closer to the bear, whose parents were usually more than happy to have photos taken of them with an I ❤ Arctic speech bubble, which will be used to campaign for a sanctuary to be declared around the North Pole.
Photos from the day (and other Edinburgh Greenpeace I ❤ Arctic events) can be found by clicking here. Thank you to everyone who volunteered to have their picture taken for the campaign.
