Friendly police at a Shell forecourt protest - 10/07 Craigleith Road

We were out again on Tuesday, talking to passers by and drivers about Shell's plans for the summer, they will be drilling for oil in the fragile Arctic. The results of a spill in this region would be catastrophic and the cleanup operation, impossible.

We were joined by a number of police, I counted three cars and a motorbike..! Once they realised what we were doing however, they were fine to leave us to it and even seemed quite sympathetic to the Save the Arctic campaign. I'm not really sure why they needed to take all of our details, but it's ok as I think they spelt my name wrong.

The effects of global warming are already being felt around the world, putting pressure on food production. This warming has also been melting the ice in the Arctic, which is why Shell are planning to drill this summer, they were previously prevented by this ice.

Should we be continuing on our current path, or taking responsibility for the damage that has already been done?
