Not the Big Green Gathering

Posted by Richard Martin - 27 July 2009 at 12:55pm - Comments

It's a quiet Monday in the Active Supporters Unit, and yet the week has already gone a little pear shaped.

As a unit our role here at Greenpeace is to support networks of active supporters across the UK, and yet this week, Rachael and I planned to cruelly desert you, and to head to the Big Green Gathering to talk to a few 1000 people about our Airplot campaign.

So the bad news, or the good news, depending on your perspective is that the festival has been cancelled. This means we'll be in most of the week to answer queries, to finalise this months editions of network newsletter and key activist news, to send out materials, to sort out details for this weekends NVDA training and much, much more.

Equally I've got an inkling of a plan to head down to the Isle of Wight to support the Vestas workers who may be laid off from the UK's only wind turbine factory. If this comes together we'll be out from about Thursday, so perhaps see you there.
