Visions of Mercia

Posted by Pete Robinson - 25 March 2010 at 10:15pm - Comments

When I first got the request to talk in Stoke on the "Visions of Mercia" to the Acting Witan of Mercia, I was a little taken aback. I knew where Mercia had been, was, but nothing further. I talked about the impact of climate change in the region and the great opportunities for a de-centralised energy grid, this seemed to go down well and all the better for having a local angle.

I then mentioned how direct action was liklely to be the only successful way of creating change as Gvernment's nationally and regionally were too slow to react.

Here is a link to their wesbite for those interested. http://www.independentmercia.org/

I signed up as a citizen of Mercia and made a good contact with the group. Not sure what it might lead to if anything, but certainly secured our name in the region.
