On Saturday, 30th June three of the Harrogate group gave out leaflets to the public as they walked passed the Shell garage in the centre of Wetherby.
The leaflets were asking people to contact Shell telling the company not to start drilling for oil in the Arctic. Most people were supportive and understood the issues. Sue had handed in a letter to the garage before the action started explaining why we were there and that we would not be trying to prevent motorists from using the facilities.
We stayed there for nearly two hours and felt that the action had gone well. The York group is hoping to do further Shell actions in and around York at the end of this month to keep up the pressure.
