We are now literally days away from our exiciting Ask the Climate Question event. On Monday 19th April at City University candidates for Islington South & Finsbury will be taking questions from local residents. In attendence will be Antonia Cox (Conservatives), Richard Deboo (Animals Count), Bridget Fox (Liberal Deomocrats), James Humphreys (Green Party) and Emily Thornberry MP (Labour). Come along to meet them and get your voice heard.
The event is being held as part of a coalition campaign between Greenpeace, Christian Aid, Oxfam, RSPB and WWF. The aim of the campaign is to ensure climate change is not forgotten during the general election. It's your chance to demand answers from your parliamentary candidates about what they will be doing to tackle this serious issue.
If your concerned about the environment but not sure what questions to ask, here are some suggestions:
- Ask about plans to meet emissions reductions required under Climate Change Act (34% by 2020)
- Ask about investment in renewables
- Ask about sustainable transport policies
- Ask about the party's position on airport expansion
Monday's event is completely free of charge and open to all. Please do come and join us and make your voice heard. Full details on the event can be found in our events section.
