Review of the Frozen Planet Film Night was good with about 25 people coming along to watch the film and the short video of 40 years of Greenpeace activities at Wharf Chambers. A big thank you to Kristina who arranged the venue and baked some delicious cakes for everyone. We will try to use the venue again for another event in January.
Next event is a Street Campaign on Saturday 15 December from 10am to 12 in the area between Lands Lane and Albion Place (near WH Smith). Nick is going to make a video so we need to think about an eye-catching scenario with Paula polar bear – creative people please come forward with suggestions or turn up on the day to help!
Green Speakers: Joe has the material (powerpoints, video clips etc) for an event where we invite people to an evening talk with round table discussions of Greenpeace issues. This is an opportunity to gather more Arctic Defenders to sign up for the scroll. Joe will contact Kristina to ask if she will help organize this at Wharf Chambers on a Monday evening in the middle of January 2013.
Shell Day 3: Will be next year now but we should continue efforts to recruit more Arctic Defenders.
UPDATES: Common Fisheries Policy (CFP) campaign. The vote in the European parliament has been delayed until the new year so time to lobby your MEP to get them to sign up to the significant changes that will reduce the by-catch and corruption currently in force
Outreach Day: 1 December in London. Jayne will represent the Leeds group and meet network co-ordinators involved in Greenpeace actions and activities.
Green Speakers Training: to communicate the Arctic campaign. Joe will put forward Suzie’s name to attend a new Green Speakers’ day on 19 January 2013 in London.
NVDA Training: Expressions of interest to attend the NVDA training from Jayne, Suzie and Nick. Joe will put forward the names.

Christmas Social: Leeds Greenpeace group’s Christmas social will be on Monday 3 December. AOB: Lucky Suzie is going to Glastonbury this year and is willing to volunteer to help out in the Greenpeace area. We are looking forward to hearing about the festival and the Greenpeace activities there.
